FONTES 64 is a study of the sources for the life and art of Michelangelo Buonarroti written by Cosimo Bartoli (1503-1572), a Florentine humanist, translator, art theorist, and diplomat. Primarily texts from Bartoli’s "Ragionamenti accademici" (Venezia 1567) are treated. The relevant texts are quoted completely in full-text form, together with other texts taken from Bartoli’s letters to Giorgio Vasari and from other printed works by Bartoli.

FONTES 64 ist eine Studie der von Cosimo Bartoli verfassten Schriftquellen für das Leben und die Kunst Michelangelo Buonarrotis. Der Florentiner Cosimo Bartoli (1503-1572) war Humanist, Übersetzer, Kunsttheoretiker und Diplomat. Hier werden vor allem Texte aus Bartolis "Ragionamenti accademici" (Venedig 1567) behandelt. Sie sind vollständig als Volltexte wiedergegeben; hierzu kommen auch andere Texte Bartolis u.a. aus seinen Briefen an Giorgio Vasari.
