The following podcast is based on a keynote lecture given by Neil MacGregor on October 10th, 2012. It opened the fourth annual conference of the Cluster of Excellence “Asia and Europe in a Global Context,” titled “Things That Connect – Pathways of Materiality and Practice.” The conference was organized by Research Area D “Historicities and Heritage” in cooperation with the CRC 933 “Material Text Cultures.”
