Abstract

Das südöstliche Arabien – ein untererforschtes Teil des Vorderen Orients – wird meist als Teil der parthischen und sasanidischen Hoheiten betrachtet. Schwerpunkt unseres DFG-getragenen Projekts war es, von dieser vordergründigen Ansicht abzuweichen und zu versuchen interne Quellen zusammen zu tragen. Es handelt sich um den ersten Vorbericht des Projekts (1987-1991).

Translation of abstract (English)

South-eastern Arabia, a little researched part of the Near East, generally is treated as part of the Parthian and Sasanian realms. The emphasis of our DFG-sponsored project war to depart from this cliche and attempt a new historicalbasis by means of investigating internal sources. This is the first field report of that project (1987-1991).
