Abstract

The author argues that observations of everyday religious and spiritual practice provides a necessary complement to the study of textual sources. This presentation explores the remarkable continuities in the devotional activities which take place at Punjabi shrines - no matter whether they are nominally designated as 'Hindu', 'Sikh' or Muslim.
