Abstract

Die Monographie "Onettis Werft" untersucht den Roman "El astillero" von Juan Carlos Onetti. Dabei stellt sie neue Lesarten vor, nimmt zum ersten Mal den intertextuellen Vergleich mit L.-F. Célines "Voyage au bout de la nuit" vor und interpretiert Onettis Roman abschließend vor der Folie der Philosophie Schopenhauers. Die Arbeit geht von der Hypothese aus, daß durch den hermetischen Charakter des Textes intertextuelle und philosophische Vergleiche notwendig sind, um überhaupt an ein mögliches Signifikat des Romans zu gelangen. Nach einer strukturellen Inhalts- und Formanalyse erweist sich der Vergleich mit Célines Roman insofern als fruchtbar, als daß besonders der Vergleich mit der Afrikaepisode bestimmte Themen aufzeigt. So kann anschließend der Roman El astillero nicht nur, wie es die Forschung bislang hauptsächlich getan hat, als eine politische Allegorie oder als existenzphilosophischer Roman gelesen werden, sondern auch als ein Roman des Scheiterns, eine Art Don-Juan-Roman, als eine semiotische Spielkonstellation und als ein Roman der Einsamkeit. Diese verschiedenen Lesarten werden dann im Abschluß der vorliegenden Analyse vor der Folie der Willens-Philosophie Schopenhauers neu gebündelt und auf einer metaphysischen Ebene verortet. Dabei werden sowohl die Prinzipien Schopenhauers im Text untersucht, wie auch die besondere Rolle des Protagonisten Larsen als möglicher Verneiner des Willens im Sinne des deutschen Philosophen. La monografía Onettis Werft ("El astillero de Onetti") analiza la novela El astillero de Juan Carlos Onetti. El trabajo presenta nuevas y posibles lecturas de la novela del autor uruguayo, comparándola por primera vez -entre otras cosas- con el Viaje al fin de la noche del escritor francés L. F. Céline, quien según el propio Onetti tuvo tanta influencia en él, y finalmente interpretándola en el contexto de la filosofía de Arthur Schopenhauer. La hipótesis de la investigación es que el carácter hermético del texto requiere necesariamente comparaciones tanto intertextuales como filosóficas para poder acceder a un posible significado. Después de analizar la estructura del contenido y de la forma, la comparación con la novela de Céline –en especial con el episodio situado en África- arroja nuevos temas y por ende nuevas claves interpretativas para el análisis de El astillero. De esta forma, dicha novela de Onetti se puede no sólo interpretar como una alegoría política o una novela existencialista, como lo sugiere la mayor parte de los críticos, sino también como una novela del fracaso, una novela donjuanesca, una novela de juego semiótico, y como una novela de la soledad. Estas diferentes lecturas se retoman e interpretan al final del trabajo, en el contexto de la filosofía de Schopenhauer, lo que hace posible una interpretación metafísica que compara los principios del filósofo alemán con la novela y muestra el protagonista de la misma, Larsen, como negador de la "voluntad" en sentido schopenhaueriano.

The present monography is an interpretation of Juan Carlos Onetti's novel The Shipyard (El astillero) in the context of L.-F. Céline's novel Journey to the End of the Night (Voyage au bout de la nuit) and the philosophy of A. Schopenhauer.
