Abstract

Translation of abstract (English)

Heidelberg University Library provides a profile based alert service called „MyUB-Info“. The underlying software „NeuIS“ was specifically developed for this purpose. It covers, amongst others, general and subject specific sources, recent acquisitions as well as licensed online media made available by external services such as DBIS and EZB. Users can set up one or more profiles to describe and store their respective interests and vary the precision of their selection. The system can be equipped for various technical interfaces and specific characteristics of sources as well as the different, partly standardized vocabulary employed in the source data. The mapping of subjects and classification systems is based on target group specifications stored in the database. The user‘s update on new titles is possible via browser, mail subscription and RSS feed.
