Abstract
Haben wir ein „Recht auf Museum“? Diese Frage stand im Fokus des gleichnamigen Forschungsprojektes, bei dem die Veränderung musealer Öffentlichkeitskonzepte und deren Wahrnehmung in der Bevölkerung in Archiv- und Feldforschungen untersucht wurden. Die Studie baute auf der Zusammenarbeit mit fünf Wiener Museen – Belvedere, Haus der Geschichte Österreich, Kunsthistorisches Museum Wien, MAK – Museum für angewandte Kunst und Volkskundemuseum Wien – sowie der in Wien lebenden Bevölkerung auf. Zehn kompakte Projekterkenntnisse geben Auskunft zur Beziehung der Institution Museum zur Öffentlichkeit und vice versa.
Translation of abstract (English)
Do we have a "Right to the Museum"? This question was the focus of the research project of the same name, in which archival and field research was used to investigate changes in museum concepts of the public and their perception. The study was based on the cooperation with five Viennese museums – Austrian Museum of Folk Life and Folk Art, Belvedere, House of Austrian History, Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna, MAK – Museum of Applied Arts – and Viennese citizens. Ten concise project findings provide information on the relationship between the institution of the museum and the public and vice versa.
