This article traces the development of his thinking from the Salon of 1824 and his discussion with Stendhal on Shakespearian and Homeric art to the end of his career. It is shown that the concept of theatricality occupied a central place in Delécluze’s critiques and that the meaning of this concept followed his changing ideas on expression and history painting. date: 1995 publisher: Verloren id_scheme: DOI id_number: 10.11588/artdok.00008051 ppn_swb: 1824017642 own_urn: urn:nbn:de:bsz:16-artdok-80515 language: und bibsort: JONKERMARIOVERWONNEN1995 full_text_status: public place_of_pub: Hilversum pagerange: 157-170 book_title: Dans der Muzen : De relatie tussen de kunsten gethematiseerd editors_name: Fleurkens, Anneke C.G. editors_name: Korpel, Luc G. editors_name: Meerhoff, Kees themen: T11 themen: T20 themen: T14 oa_type: green title_lat: Overwonnen theatraliteit : Delecluze over David laender: LFr citation: Jonker, Marijke (1995) Overwonnen theatraliteit : Delécluze over David.
