Using concrete examples, the hands-on approach is critically examined and evaluated. One focus is on the overseas engagements of European and US students, who actively apply their newly acquired knowledge in cultures foreign to them. The authors also document and analyze projects by students from Latin America, Asia and Africa, who use the method, among other approaches, as a field of experimentation to question colonial norms. In addition to the students’ viewpoints, the contributions also address those of the community, educators, and supporters, thereby specifying the problems and challenges faced by all those involved. date: 2024 id_scheme: DOI id_number: 10.11588/artdok.00009115 own_urn: urn:nbn:de:bsz:16-artdok-91156 language: eng bibsort: BADERVERASDESIGNBUIL2024 full_text_status: public editors_name: Bader, Vera Simone themen: T12 themen: T11 themen: T27 laender: LAf laender: LAs laender: LDe laender: LSA laender: LSo oa_type: green citation: Bader, Vera Simone, Hrsg.
