I try to show that Michelangelo actually lost his original face when Pietro Torrigiani crushed his nose. Thus Michelangelo’s face was a mask which later became his trademark and which is emblematic both of his character and of his thoughts about art. contributor: Bernstorff, Marieke von contributor: Kubersky, Susanne contributor: Cicconi, Maurizia date: 2018 type: Book Section type: info:eu-repo/semantics/bookPart type: NonPeerReviewed identifier: https://archiv.ub.uni-heidelberg.de/artdok/9396/ format: application/pdf identifier: https://archiv.ub.uni-heidelberg.de/artdokhttps://archiv.ub.uni-heidelberg.de/artdok/9396/1/Zoellner_Michelangelos_Masken_Zur_Geschichte_eines_grotesken_Gesichts_2018.pdf identifier: urn:nbn:de:bsz:16-artdok-93966 rights: info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess language: ger
