I am particularly critical of the assumption that the painting was made before 1510. After weighing up all the arguments, I come to the conclusion that Leonardo developed a specific iconography of light for Pope Leo X in his painting with John the Baptist, which can also be found in Raphael's paintings of the same subject. date: 2019 id_scheme: DOI id_number: 10.11588/artdok.00009411 schriftenreihe_cluster_id: sr-2 schriftenreihe_order: 56 ppn_swb: 1916088007 own_urn: urn:nbn:de:bsz:16-artdok-94110 language: ita bibsort: ZOLLNERFRAUNSANGIOVA2019 full_text_status: public series: Storia dell'Accademia dei Lincei.
