Abstract

Translation of abstract (English)

Since 1998 Heidelberg University has sponsored an interdisciplinary archaeological Expedition to Zafar/Yemen, capital of the ancient Himyarite tribal confederacy. We undertook a workshop in order to introduce a largely unpublished body of early historic pottery from different sites, refocus the attention of scholars on this material and its historic issues and to introduce new talent. One focus was the interregional relations during late antiquity.
