The study focuses on the Late Minoan I architectural phases of the Palace and assesses the effects of the second phase modifications on the circulation. It can be shown that during the first phase, circulation was less restricted than during the second phase. The second phase modifications altered the west entrance system and complicated the circulation pattern within the West Wing of the palace drastically.
