Concrete evidence is presented and analyzed on the presence and activity of Mycenaean Greeks in Anatolia, Pontus and Syros - Palestine during the second millennium BC. Political but also direct military involvement of the Mycenaeans in the controversies of Asia Minor stands out based on Hittite sources and other pieces of evidence, while the cultural interaction between the Aegean and the core of Asia Minor turns out to be almost as intense as that with coast Anatolia. Similarities and analogies are found in religion, script, architecture, art and other aspects of culture, as a result of mutual influences between the Hittites and the Aegean. The purpose of the book is to provide an objective picture of these interactions which developed between Aegean and Hittite culture during the Bronze Age. date: 2015 id_scheme: DOI id_number: 10.11588/propylaeumdok.00005302 ppn_swb: 1789685680 own_urn: urn:nbn:de:bsz:16-propylaeumdok-53028 language: gre bibsort: KONIDARESD2015 full_text_status: public place_of_pub: Athen oa_type: green themen: T930 title_lat: Oi Chettaíoi kai o kósmos tu Aigaíu faecher: FKA laender: R939 citation: Konidarēs, Dēmētrios (2015) Οι Χετταίοι και ο κόσμος του Αιγαίου. document_url: https://archiv.ub.uni-heidelberg.de/propylaeumdok/5302/1/Konidaris_HITTITES_AND_THE_AEGEAN_2016.pdf
