Abstract
This thesis presents the measurement of production asymmetries for D+ and D_s mesons in proton-proton collisions at sqrt(s) = 13.6 TeV, using 2022 and 2023 data from the upgraded LHCb experiment during Run 3 of the LHC. The measured asymmetries are determined in two-dimensional intervals of transverse momentum and pseudorapidity, and are found to be compatible with the symmetric production of charm and anticharm mesons. A novel data-driven calibration method is developed to determine the detection asymmetry of charged pions, enabling precise charge asymmetry measurements. Utilizing this calibration, a preliminary study of CP violation in the D_s -> K+ pi+ pi- decay is also presented, demonstrating a sensitivity to CP asymmetries at the level of 10^-3.
