abstract: Ausgehend von Michel Foucaults Problematisierung der Selbstsorge wird in dieser Arbeit John Deweys Entwurf einer demokratischen Schulgemeinschaft unter dem Aspekt der ethischen Subjektivierung untersucht. Dabei zeigt sich John Deweys Pädagogik als Vermittlung einer demokratischen Selbstsorge, die darauf abzielt, die Individuen zu wahrheitsfähigen Subjekten zu erziehen. Auf dieser Grundlage wird die Vermittlung der demokratischen Selbstsorge dem Individualisierungsprozess in der traditionellen Schulpraxis gegenübergestellt werden.    
abstract_translated_text: This work analyzes John Dewey's concept of a democratic school community under the aspect of ethic subjectivization on the basis of Michel Foucaults problematization of self-care. In doing so John Dewey's pedagogy is understood as an agent for the acquisition of democratic self-care, which implies the ability of an individual to speak truthfully (parrhesia). On this basis the attainment of democratic self-care is being discussed as opposed to the process of individuation in traditional school practice.
