abstract: Unter dem Namen "Bogomilen" wird eine im Mittelalter in Bosnien und Herzegowina angesiedelte religiöse Gemeinschaft verstanden. Nach dem Krieg 1992-1995 sind die Bogomilen in Bosnien zu einem wichtigen Bestandteil der Identitätsdebatte geworden. Demzufolge sollen die jetzigen Bosniaken (bosnischen Muslime) die direkten Nachfahren der mittelalterlichen Bogomilen sein. Das Bogomilenmotiv dient zur Bekräftigung der Vorstellung von der Kontinuität ihrer nationalen Identität.
