In the analysis presented, W boson production in association with two high energetic photons has been measured for the first time using proton-proton collision data recorded in 2012 with the ATLAS detector. The dataset corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 20.3fb -1 collected at a center-of-mass energy of sqrt s = 8 TeV. Events are selected requiring the muonic decay channel of the W boson and two isolated photons. The production cross-section is measured in two restricted phase-space regions, with and without a requirement on the number of additional jets. It is found to be consistent with predictions at next-to-leading order precision in the strong coupling. The measurement is sensitive to new physics phenomena, namely anomalous quartic gauge boson couplings.
