description: For reasons of editorial policy the contributions to the Acta Eruditorum (Leipzig 1682-1731) and its successor, the Nova Acta Eruditorum (Leipzig 1731-1772), were published anonymously. However, the copies of these journals in the UB Leipzig, the SLUB Dresden, the SUB Göttingen and the UB Heidelberg are provided with handwritten marginal notes, originating from the editors. With the help of these, it was possible to identify, to a very large extent, the vast number of contributors for the period 1682-1735. So, the present publication contributes to the intellectual history of the Republic of Letters. It may add valuable information to the biographies and bibliographies of the scholars involved in the work of the Acta Eruditorum.
