title: Fano Resonances in the Time Domain - understanding and controlling the absorption and emission of light creator: Kaldun, Andreas subject: ddc-530 subject: 530 Physics description: Fano Resonances in the Time Domain - understanding and controlling the absorption and emission of light—Within this work, starting from the well known theory for photoabsorption cross sections by Ugo Fano, a new formalism is developed, which enables measurement and control of phase and amplitude changes in an emitting dipole. This is shown by experimental measurements in singly and doubly excited helium that confirm the formalism. An application in time-domain quantum holography of excited states, allowing to separate laser-induced coupling pathways, is also presented. date: 2014 type: Dissertation type: info:eu-repo/semantics/doctoralThesis type: NonPeerReviewed format: application/pdf identifier: https://archiv.ub.uni-heidelberg.de/volltextserverhttps://archiv.ub.uni-heidelberg.de/volltextserver/16775/1/Kaldun_FanoResonancesInTheTimeDomain_2014.pdf identifier: DOI:10.11588/heidok.00016775 identifier: urn:nbn:de:bsz:16-heidok-167754 identifier: Kaldun, Andreas (2014) Fano Resonances in the Time Domain - understanding and controlling the absorption and emission of light.
