This study depends on the most abundant Sumerian textual data hitherto, which constitute a promising source for Assyriological studies regarding the understanding of the political, socio-economic, and religious history of the Ancient Near East. By a statistical analysis of text formulary and written documentation, this thesis also contributes to the understanding of ancient Mesopotamian bookkeeping.
