Taking advantage of the unique possibilities at the Experimental Storage Ring (ESR) at GSI, the so-called proton-capture campaign has been started in 2009 focusing on the study of (p,γ) reactions for hot, explosive stellar scenarios. In this thesis, the recent experiment of the campaign, performed in March 2020, is analyzed and discussed in detail. The (p,γ) and (p,n) reaction cross-sections have been successfully measured at 10 MeV/u using a stable 124Xe ion beam and for the first time also using a radioactive ion beam, namely 118Te with 6 days half-life. In addition, a novel experimental scheme to improve the sensitivity of the method has been developed. Using the stable 124Xe beam it is demonstrated that the application of this new technique enables measurement at maximum sensitivity for proton-induced reactions in inverse kinematics.
