N2 - This dissertation comprises four chapters, each addressing distinct aspects of bargaining and strategic interaction. Chapter 1 presents a theoretical analysis of a three-person bargaining game under conditions of private information. Chapter 2 empirically tests the theoretical predictions from Chapter 1 through a laboratory experiment. Chapter 3 explores a related bargaining model, examining the impact of an unreliable party on the bargaining process. Chapter 4 analyses a coopetition problem specific to road cycling. A theoretical model leads to patterns that we test with empirical data of professional races.
