title: A Discontinuous Galerkin Method for Simulations in Complex Domains creator: Engwer, Christian subject: ddc-510 subject: 510 Mathematics description: In this report we present a new approach to simulations on complex shaped domains. The method uses a Discontinuous Galerkin discretization and a structured grid to construct the test and trial functions. Boundary and transmission conditions along the complex shape of the domains are imposed weakly via the Discontinuous Galerkin formulation. This method o ers a discretization where the minimal number of unknowns is independent of the possibly very complicated shape of the domain. date: 2005 type: Preprint type: info:eu-repo/semantics/preprint type: NonPeerReviewed format: application/pdf identifier: https://archiv.ub.uni-heidelberg.de/volltextserverhttps://archiv.ub.uni-heidelberg.de/volltextserver/5707/1/dg_for_complex_domains.pdf identifier: DOI:10.11588/heidok.00005707 identifier: urn:nbn:de:bsz:16-heidok-57077 identifier: Engwer, Christian (2005) A Discontinuous Galerkin Method for Simulations in Complex Domains.
