Abstract
Auf der 25.000 m² großen Fläche des Neubaugebiets Oberrimsingen-Wasserloch wurden zwischen 2021 und 2022 über 2.500 Befunde dokumentiert. Neben Spuren prähistorischer Flussläufe und Gräben, die auf ein frühes Wassermanagement hindeuten, fanden sich Hinweise auf eine ländliche römische Siedlung wie ein römischer Brunnen und ein gut erhaltener Kalkofen. Ein Brandgrab mit Feinkeramik belegt Bestattungen dieser Zeit. Mittelalterliche Spuren fehlen weitgehend; neuzeitliche Funde beschränken sich auf einzelne Streufunde wie landwirtschaftliche Geräte und Keramikfragmente.
Translation of abstract (English)
Between 2021 and 2022, archaeological excavations on the 25,000 m² site of the Oberrimsingen-Wasserloch development documented over 2,500 features. Evidence of prehistoric riverbeds and drainage ditches suggests early water management. A Roman well and a well-preserved lime kiln, along with ceramics, fibulae, and coins, indicate a rural Roman settlement. A cremation grave with fine gray pottery confirms Roman-period burials. Medieval remains are absent, while modern finds include agricultural tools and fragments of pottery.
