Abstract
Der Grundwasserozean Nun spielt eine bedeutende Rolle in der mythologischen Topographie der altägyptischen Unterwelt in der Totenliteratur allgemein und den Kosmographien im Besonderen. Die Studie umfasst Quellen vom Alten Reich bis in die Römerzeit und beschäftigt sich mit der Beziehung des Nun zu den Ein- und Austrittsorten des Sonnengottes in der Unterwelt bei seinem täglichen Sonnenlauf am West- und Osthorizont, als auch dem Charakter des Nun als kosmische Gottheit des unterweltlichen Raums.
Translation of abstract (English)
The watery abyss Nun plays a prominent part in mythological topography of the Egyptian Netherworld in funerary literature in general and cosmographies in particular. The study covers textual sources from the Old Kingdom to the Roman Period and treats the relationship of Nun to the entry and exit of the sun-god at the western and eastern horizon during his daily voyage and the character of the cosmic god Nun as personification of the Underworld.
