Abstract

Translation of abstract (English)

The introductory part of the work undertakes the historical, conceptual and epistemological justification of the endeavour to enrich experimental psychology by a phenomenological approach. Since, so far, this style of research is neither compatible with the contemporary discourse nor sufficiently elaborated in its current form in order to offer a complete experimental paradigm for psychology, the 'programme for the rejuvenation of phenomenological psychology' proposes four steps for the development of a phenomenological experimental psychology. Representing the claim to be 'phenomenological experimental psychology', the investigation is dedicated to the notion of the problem and its empirical study. Its foundation is the outline of eight separate notions of the problem as well as the critical comparison with six commensurable notions, namely the question, the solution, the goal, the situation, the task, and the decision. Separating itself from these conceptual and theoretical traditions, the phenomenology of the problem becomes pertinent on the basis of the immediacy of the problem as a situational experience. In the process, the three aspects, solvability, oppressiveness, and the problem’s horizon are determined by contrast with the colloquial (sensus communis) and the scientific conception of the problem. Consequently, the phenomenology of the problem is utilized for the conception of a psychological theory. On the one hand, the theory of multimodal situations (TMS) relates problems with different modes of the situation, such as challenges and fatalities. On the other hand, the structure of problematic situations (SPS) displays the specificity of the problem. Furthermore, this transfer from phenomenology to theory facilitates operationalizations and hypotheses. On the basis of a specific experimental design of phenomenological experimental psychology, called pseudo-interactivity, two separate experiments were conducted during winter 2018 at the University of Heidelberg. Due to the exploratory approach of these experiments, the results do not sufficiently corroborate the hypotheses but neither do they falsify them. Thus, the future advancement of the approach is justified.
