Abstract
Bis ins 18. Jahrhundert bediente sich die Kunst als Vorlage für die Darstellung des Badegenusses der mythologischen Erzählungen über Nymphen, Venus, Diana und ihren Gefährtinnen. Ebenfalls beliebt für die Darstellung badender Frauen erschienen Sujets des Alten Testamentes, wie Susanna und Bathseba. Reizvolle Badende bevölkern italianisante und arkadische Küstenlandschaften, lösen das Thema "Badeszene" aus der Abhängigkeit zu klassischen Literaturvorlagen, und stellen von da an eine Bildgattung per se dar. Im 19. Und 20.Jahhrundert ist das Badevergnügen eine gängige Freizeitgestaltung, die zu einem bedeutenden Wirtschaftsfaktor – von der Bademode bis zum Tourismus – wurde, und zu Strandbildern mit einer Fülle an Interpretations-Möglichkeiten führte.
Translation of abstract (English)
Until the 18th century, the bathing pleasure was portrayed of the mythological narratives of nymphs, Venus, Diana and their companions. Also popular for depicting bathing women were Susanna and Bathsheba from the Old Testament. Delightful bathers populate Italian and Arcadian coastal landscapes, solving the theme of "bathing scene" in dependence on classical literary works, and from then on constitute a genre per se. In the 19th and 20th centuries, bathing pleasure is a common recreational activity that has become a major economic factor - from swimwear to tourism. So beach views receive a wealth of interpretations.
