Abstract

In über 40 griechische Papyri aus Ägypten unter ptolemäischer und römischer Herrschaft wird ein Dorf namens Samareia mit einem hohen jüdischen Bevölkerungsanteil erwähnt. Diese Dokumentation wird in der vorliegenden Magisterarbeit systematisch ausgewertet. Hauptthemen sind die Lage, die Gründung und der Name dieses Dorfes. Weiterhin die verschiedenen Bevölkerungsgruppen, die Personennamen und vor allem die Frage nach der Organisation und Lebensweise der Juden in Ägypten zu dieser Zeit. (Umfang 117 Seiten)

Translation of abstract (English)

More than 40 Papyri from Ptolemaic and Roman Egypt mention a village which is called Samareia and has many Jewish inhabitants. This study tries to examen the history of this village and its inhabitants. Special interest lies in the question for structures and forms of Jewish life in Egypt at this time. (117 pages)
