Abstract

In dieser Studie werden Kaiserkultstätten in den römischen Provinzen Asia und Galatia hinsichtlich ihrer Lage, urbanistischen Einbindung, Form und Ausstattung untersucht. Auf diese Weise wird deutlich, wie sich der römische Herrscherkult auf das antike Stadtbild auswirkte und welches Bild von den Kaisern vermittelt wurde. Ein weiterer Teil befasst sich mit den Stiftern und Förderern der Bauprojekte. Dabei kommen römische wie einheimische Interessen zum Vorschein.

Translation of abstract (English)

In this study the sites of the imperial cult in den Roman provinces of Asia and Galatia are examined concerning its location, urban integration, form and equipment. In this way it becomes clear how the Roman ruler cult changed the antique townscape and which image was conveyed by the emperor. Another part deals with the founders and promoters of the building projects. Here local and Roman interests come to the fore.
