Abstract
Das Wort np3 bedeutet nicht „Darm“, sondern „Nabelschnur“. Sowohl in einer magischen Beschwörung als auch an einer bislang verkannten Stelle in der Neith-Kosmogonie wird Apopis als „Nabelschnur des Re“ bezeichnet. Dies paßt zu einer Angabe bei Plutarch, er sei der Bruder des Sonnengottes gewesen.
