Abstract

In this thesis a spray-burner was developed within a cooperation with the University of California at Berkeley and investigated by laser-spectroscopic methods. It consists of a commercially available spray-nozzle, that is surrounded by a coflow of air. In the Ethanole-spray-flames the distribution of the OH-Radical was visualised by Laser-Induced Fluorescence (LIF). For the detection of the spray-droplet velocities Particle-Image-Velocimetry (PIV) was applied. Furthermore the sizes (Sauter-Mean-Diameter, SMD) of the spray-droplets were determined by a combination of a light-scattering- (Mie-scattering) and a LIF-technique
