Abstract

Translation of abstract (English)

Modern corporate development is characterised by two major challenges: Realisation of genuine process oriented organisation of the company and successful management of knowledge. Attempts to combine these two orientations, though, have often disregarded psychological issues. This work integrates systems theory, organisation theory, ontologies and psychology of media for tackling research questions that arose out of practice. In an environment that is marked significantly by the use of information and communication technology, representational systems gain importance influence in shaping perspectives. Their ontological commitment influences the alignment of cognition in social systems. Making use of process oriented representational systems fosters a process perspective on business issues. This has been the starting point for three empirical investigations. A representational system that is already used in business process management is investigated concerning it’s usefulness for corporate information systems and knowledge management.
