Abstract

Bluttrypanossomen nutzen den Transferrinrezeptor um ihren Eisenbedarf zu decken, der Transferrinrezeptor ist ein heterodimeres Protein und eisenabhängig reguliert. Anders als bei der humanen Transferrinrezeptor sind die regulatorische Elemente vermutlich in der 3´-UTR-Sequenz. Die an der Regulation beteiligten Proteine sind noch nicht in T. brucei identifiziert. NMP-Kinase sind Enzyme und übertragen einer Phosphatgruppe von einem Nukleosidtriphosphat auf einem Nukleosidmonophosphat und dienen zur Synthese von Nukleosidiphosphat und Recycling von Nukleosidmonphosphat. Bei Trypanosomen sind NMP-Kinase essentiell für die Nukleotidstoffwechsel.
