Abstract

Translation of abstract (English)

The court-architect of the margraves of Baden-Baden Franz Ignaz Krohmer was active in the second part of the eighteenth century in nearly all communities of the region of the court. A main point of his activities are the rural churches which can be found in the actual rural district of Rastatt as a city in the southwest of Germany. But his function as a court-architect included also the completion of the residence in Rastatt by a court theatre and other functions. The pupil of the legendary baroque architect Balthasar Neumann was also a talented drawer, and his buildings and plans are important documents for the history of architecture in the southwest of Germany durant the periods of late baroque and early classicism.
