Abstract

Translation of abstract (English)

At present the research on child soldiers only describes the main points of the phenomenon. It is a global task for comparative education research to investigate the subject. This study refers to Michel Foucault´s theory of discourse analysis. The author examines the current knowledge on child soldiers, especially in relation to their socialisation and rehabilitation and in relation to preventive measures. Pedagogical interventions to reduce child soldiering are mainly concerned with primary education, vocational training, social services and the new concepts of education for reconciliation and education for reconstruction. The author underlines that the discourse community consists of people of the Western world, who focus mainly on the social experiences and individual consequences of child soldiering and will increasingly use the possibilities of the world wide web for public information in future. The study concludes with the thesis on the discourse's progression, prognoses for its future and recommendations for further research.
