Abstract
Die Zeitschrift "Il Caffè" versteht sich als sozialutopischer Entwurf der italienischen Aufklärung, die an entscheidender Stelle Dekadenzparadigmen entwickelt, die konstitutiv werden für den Ästhetizismus um 1900. Cesare Beccaria kommt in diesem Zusammenhang die Rolle Vorreiters zu.
