Abstract
Da die soziologische Forschung zum Thema Innovation in der Regel die Unnachahmlichkeit der Bedingungen, die in einem bestimmten Kontext förderlich waren, herausstellt, befasst sich der Aufsatz mit den konkreten kulturellen und politischen Differenzen im ostasiatischen Wirtschaftsraum. Ziel der empiriegeleiteten Analyse ist es, herauszuarbeiten welche kulturellen und sozialen Regeln dort dem innovationsbezogenen Handeln zugrunde liegen; welche Organisations- und Netzwerkformen maßgeblich sind; und welche Bedeutung wirtschaftlichen und politischen Institutionen für die historische Entwicklung der ostasiatischen Länder beikommt. Statt Rezepte für eine vermeintlich „bessere“ Praxis, bietet der Text ein sozialwissenschaftliches Verständnis von Innovationskulturen, das erst aus dem Zusammenspiel dieser drei Ebenen erwächst.
