Abstract

Der dramaturgische Einsatz von Musik in Romanen von Hedwig Courths-Mahler gibt Anlaß zu einer Diskussion von Wertungstopoi von Musik in der erzählenden Literatur des 19. und frühen 20. Jh. Es ergeben sich Verbindungen bis zu Augustin. Erwähnt werden u. a.: Romain Rolland, Marie von Ebner Eschenbach, Th. Storm, H. de Balzac, Emil Strauss, K. May, A. Stifter und Gottfried von Straßburg, K. Gutzkow.
