Abstract

Neben dem Einen hat Platon auch ein zweites Prinzip angesetzt, wie uns die Berichte der indirekten Überlieferung informieren. Das zweite Prinzip befindet sich in der Unbestimmtheit der Richtungszweiheit, des Großen und des Kleinen. Es erweist sich jedoch nicht bloß als eine Unbestimmtheit, sondern als eine Kombination der Unbestimmtheit und der Bestimmbarkeit und daher als eine Seinsmöglichkeit.Einerseits ist das zweite Prinzip Ursache für die Ableitung des Prinzipiates aus dem Einen, andererseits für die Zurückführung des Prinzipiates auf das Eine. Es stellt den dynamischen Faktor des metaphysischen Systems Platons dar. Platon hat aber keinen radikalen Dualismus in seiner Prinzipientheorie vertreten, sofern die Einführung des zweiten Prinzips nur für die Deduktion nötig ist. Das zweite Prinzip gilt daher im abgeleiteten Sinne als Prinzip. Auf ein solches Prinzip können wir zahlreiche Hinweise in den Dialogen Platons finden, v.a. im Timaios, Sophistes, Philebos und Parmenides. Durch die Heranziehung des zweiten Prinzips Platons in der Deutung der Dialoge können wir nicht nur die innere Struktur eines einzelnen Dialogs, sondern auch die engen Beziehungen zwischen ihnen erhellen. Die vorliegende Arbeit versteht sich als eine systematische Untersuchung des zweiten Prinzips. Nicht nur die innerakademische Lehre sondern auch die Dialoge werden behandelt. Die Verbindung zwischen der ungeschriebenen Lehre und der Schriftwerke spielt darin eine zentrale Rolle. Daher wird der Schwerpunkt auf die Interpretation von vier Spätdialogen im Hintergrund der Prinzipienlehre gelegt.

Translation of abstract (English)

Besides the One, Plato has also set a second principle, as the reports of the indirect tradition inform us. The second principle is an indefiniteness in the directional duality of the Great and the Small. It turns out however not to be merely an indefiniteness, but a combination of indefiniteness and determinability and therefore a possibility of being. On the one hand, the second principle is the reason for the derivation of the beings from the One, on the other hand for the return of the beings to the One. It is the dynamic factor of Plato's metaphysical system. Platon, however, did not advocate a radical dualism, provided that the introduction of the second principle is only necessary for deduction. The second principle is therefore considered as principle only in the derived sense . In Plato's dialogues we can find numerous references to such a principle, especially in Timaeus, Sophist, Philebus and Parmenides. By the referring to the second principle of Platon in the interpretation of the dialogues, we can not only illuminate the inner structure of a single dialogue, but also the close relationship between them. The present dissertation is a systematic investigation of the second principle. Not only the internal doctrines in the academy of Plato but also the dialogues are dealt with. The connection between the unwritten doctrines and the written works plays a central role here. The focus is therefore on the interpretation of four late dialogues in the background of the theory of principles.
