Abstract
Der dreibändige Katalog dokumentiert eine Zusammenarbeit zwischen Künstlerin und Sammler: In den Jahren 2003 bis 2023 hat Axel Rohlfs als Sammler-Assistent von Vera Molnar 500 Werkideen Vera Molnars aus ihren Skizzenbüchern (verwahrt im Centre Pompidou) in jeweils zwei Varianten mit Hilfe von Computern realisiert, eine Variante für seine Sammlung und eine Variante für die Künstlerin. Die Variation beruht auf der Änderung von Bildparametern und findet im Rahmen der empirischen Ästhetik aus Bildserien der Künstlerin statt. Ästhetisches Ziel dieser Algorithmik von Kunst ist ästhetische Ambiguität, die die Aufmerksamkeit aufteilt und die damit metakognitiv Aufmerksamkeitslenkung selbst thematisiert.
Translation of abstract (English)
The three-volume catalog documents a collaboration between artist and collector: From 2003 to 2023, Axel Rohlfs, as Vera Molnar's collector-assistant, transformed 500 of Vera Molnar's work ideas from her sketchbooks (kept in the Centre Pompidou) into two art work versions with the help of computers, one variant for his collection and one variant for the artist. The variation is based on the change of image parameters and takes place within the framework of the artist's empirical aesthetics by series of images. The aesthetic goal of this algorithmic art is aesthetic ambiguity, which divides attention and thereby addresses metacognitively the directing of attention itself.
