Abstract

Mathematik erweist sich für das Verständnis von Technik aber auch zur Lösung von gesellschaftlichen Problemen wie dem Klimawandel und der Digitalisierung als notwendig. Dabei kommt der Sprache eine maßgebliche Rolle zu, da mathematisches Wissen durch diese instruiert, hinterfragt und perspektiviert wird. Diese Perspektivierung steht im Kontrast zu der vermeintlichen Objektivität von mathematischem Wissen. Die vorliegende Arbeit geht der Frage nach, wie mathematisches Wissen in Lehrbüchern zu Einführungen der Analysis konstituiert und perspektiviert wird und inwiefern es von der, aufgrund des Untersuchungsgegenstandes erwarteten, Objektivität abweicht. Mathematisches Wissen wird durch Anknüpfungen an Alltagsvorstellungen und Relevanzzuschreibungen evoziert und Vorstellungen teilweise durch Grafiken unterstützt.

Translation of abstract (English)

Mathematics is necessary not only for understanding technology but also for solving societal problems such as climate change and digitalization. In this context, language plays a significant role as it instructs, questions and gives perspective to mathematical knowledge. This contextualization stands in contrast to the supposed objectivity of mathematical knowledge. This paper investigates how mathematical knowledge is presented and contextualized in course books on introductions to analysis, and the extent to which it deviates from the objectivity due to the subject matter. Mathematical knowledge is evoked through the connection to everyday concepts and attributed relevance, with graphics often serving to reinforce these concepts.
