Abstract

Questa realtà oggettiva nascosta, che il figlio di Beckmann, Peter, ha riconosciuto durante una delle sue visite ad Amsterdam, può essere rintracciata lungo un sentiero pieno di ostacoli che lo stesso Beckmann aveva posto. "A visit to Max Beckmann was a visit to a world of reality without the slightest mention of the reality of the day in question." Peter Beckmann, "Besuche bei Max Beckmann in Amsterdam", in: Max Beckmann Sammlung Günther Franke, Köln 1959.
This hidden objective reality, which Beckmann's son Peter recognized during one of his visits to Amsterdam, can be traced along a path full of stumbling blocks that Beckmann himself laid. At any rate, we try, for he also left us many secret clues in his notes, his legacy to do justice to this task, "beyond the great wall" of temporal silence.
