Abstract
The poetry of Faustus Sabaeus not only demonstrates how Sabaeus brings works of art to life, but his poems also show how deep and exact the mythological and historical knowledge of the antique was in the sixteenth century.

Die Gedichte des Faustus Sabaeus zeigen nicht nur, in welcher Weise er Kunstwerke verlebendigt, sondern auch, wie tief und genau die Bildung des 16. Jahrhunderts war und die Kenntnis der Antike in Mythos und Geschichte.
