Abstract
Faszination und Schrecken lassen sich als zwei zentrale Erfahrungen mit dem Frühwerk Anselm Kiefers, das den Nationalsozialismus thematisiert, herausstellen. Entsprechend hat es vor allem in Deutschland aber nicht im Ausland heftige Reaktionen ausgelöst. Warum ist das so? Die Antwort, die die Autorin gibt, basiert auf der Analyse der "Wirkkraft" der Bilder. Sie zeigt, dass Wahrnehmungsprozesse als Grundlage für Entscheidungsprozesse verstanden werden können. Wobei die Entscheidungen je nach dem kulturellen Hintergrund anders ausfallen.
Translation of abstract (English)
Fascination and horror are two key experiences that are present in the early work of Anselm Kiefer dealing with National Socialism. Thus it has prompted strong reactions in Germany but not abroad. Why is that so? The answer of the author bases on the analysis of the impact of pictures, their "Wirkkraft". She shows that processes of perception can be defined as the basis of decisions differing due to the cultural backround of the recipient.
