Abstract

Nach einer kurzen Vorstellung der wichtigsten Importwaren des 8. bis 12. Jahrhunderts (Tatinger Kannen, Reliefbandamphoren, Mayener »steinzeugartige Ware«, Pingsdorfer Ware) werden die Hauptgruppen der im südwestdeutschen Raum produzierten Drehscheibenkeramik dieses Zeitraumes (Ältere gelbe Drehscheibenware, Rotbemalte Elsässer Ware, Orangefarbene Straßburger Ware, Ältere graue Drehscheibenware, Glimmer-Ware) präsentiert, die Frage der Herstellungsorte diskutiert und ihre räumliche Verbreitung skizziert. Im zweiten teil wird der Versuch unternommen, die so ermittelten Kartenbilder zu erklären. Wegen des engen vorgegebenen Rahmens werden eingangs nur ganz kurz die sicher identifizierbaren Importe vorgestellt, bevor im Hauptteil des Beitrages die regionalen Warenarten behandelt werden.

Translation of abstract (English)

After a short presentation of the most important imported wares of the 8th to 12th century (Tating jugs, relief-band amphora, Mayen stoneware-type ware, Pingsdorf ware), the main groups of wheel-turned pottery of this period produced in southwestern Germany (Older yellow wheel-turned ware, red-painted Alsace ware, orange Strasbourg ware, older grey wheel-turned ware, mica-dusted ware) is presented, the question of production-sites discussed and their regional distribution outlined. In the second part an attempt is made to explain the maps obtained. Owing to the limited framework given here, only the certainly identifiable imports are presented at the outset, before the regional types of ware are dealt with in the main part of the paper.
