Abstract
Christoph Keller bewegt sich mit seiner Arbeit an der Schnittstelle von Kunst und Wissenschaft. Der Titel “Observatorium" bezeichnet nicht nur eine gleichnamige Werkserie, sondern sein künstlerisches Vorgehen an sich. Es geht um eine Umkehrung des Blicks: Das Beobachtende wird selbst zum Objekt der Betrachtung. Die Publikation bezieht retrospektiv eine Auswahl von älteren Werken ein und bietet einen Einblick in die verschiedenen Themenfelder Kellers künstlerischer Arbeit. Mit Beiträgen von Sharon Ben-Joseph, Anselm Franke, Stefan Heidenreich, Christoph Keller, Hans-Ulrich Obrist, Hilke Wagner. Erschienen anlässlich der Ausstellung Christoph Keller: OBSERVATORIUM im Kunstverein Braunschweig, kuratiert von Hilke Wagner.
Translation of abstract (English)
Christoph Keller's art works are often situated at the imbrications of art and science. The title of the book “Observatorium" not only refers to a series of works of the same name, but also to his artistic approach in general, which is concerned with a reversal of the gaze: the observer him- or herself becomes the object of contemplation. The publication includes a selection of earlier works and offers an insight into the various topics of Keller's artistic oeuvre. With contributions by Sharon Ben-Joseph, Anselm Franke, Stefan Heidenreich, Christoph Keller, Hans Ulrich Obrist, Hilke Wagner. Published on the occasion of the exhibition Christoph Keller: OBSERVATORIUM at the Kunstverein Braunschweig, curated by Hilke Wagner.
