Abstract

In this work both the Kondo s-d model (1CK), i.e. a system consisting of conduction electrons and a localized spin coupled by an antiferromagnetic exchange interaction, both the Two-Channel Kondo model (2CK), that is an extension of 1CK with a degenerate channel of conduction electrons, are treated in case of low temperature by means of the method of flow-equations. The elimination of those parts of the Hamiltonian corresponding to transitions of electron states of different sides of the Fermi edge, i.e. processes of changing the number of quasi-particles, is performed by continuous transformation. By perturbation expansion the coupling matrix elements modified by the flow are preserved in second order under taking account interactions between two particles. With this transformed Hamiltonian and a variational ansatz the lowering of the ground state's energy of 1CK is calculated. By this the Kondo temperature is obtained immediately, the existence of a singlet bound state is also shown. Afterwards in a similar ansatz the 2CK is studied. The lowering of the ground state's energy in exponentiell dependence of the coupling constant is as shown as the over-compensation of the spin of the impurity by the electrons of the two channels. Again the amount of the Kondo temperature is in the range of the results obtained by other methods yet.
