Abstract
Das Münchner Memorandum "Forschungsdaten in der Kunstgeschichte: 10 Thesen" ist im Kontext einer am 5. und 6. Juli 2024 auf Initiative des Deutschen Verbandes für Kunstgeschichte e. V., der Universitätsbibliothek Heidelberg / arthistoricum.net und des Zentralinstituts für Kunstgeschichte in München veranstalteten Tagung erarbeitet worden. Es formuliert aus Sicht des Faches in Deutschland aktuelle Anforderungen, Positionen und Impulse zur weiteren Entwicklung digitaler kunsthistorischer Forschungsdaten und ihrer Infrastruktur. Ziel ist es, dass die in unterschiedlichen Bereichen produzierten und vorliegenden Forschungsdaten – wenn sinnvoll – strukturiert und nachhaltig veröffentlicht werden, damit sie jederzeit zusammengeführt und ausgewertet werden können. Sie machen den Forschungsprozess nachvollziehbar und sind zugleich Grundlage für weitere Forschungen. Ihre Bereitstellung in einem abgestimmten System eröffnet – auch aus interdisziplinärer Perspektive – neue Forschungsfragen für die Disziplin Kunstgeschichte, ermöglicht neue Wissensproduktion und erhebt Forschungsdaten zu einem zentralen Bestandteil des kulturbewahrenden Systems.
Translation of abstract (English)
The Munich Memorandum ‘Research Data in Art History: 10 Theses’ was developed in the context of a conference organised on 5 and 6 July 2024 on the initiative of the German Association for Art History, Heidelberg University Library / arthistoricum.net and the Central Institute for Art history in Munich. From the perspective of the discipline in Germany, it formulates current requirements, positions and impulses for the further development of digital art historical research data and its infrastructure. The aim is for the research data produced and available in different areas to be published in a structured and sustainable manner – where appropriate – so that it can be consolidated and analysed at any time. This makes the research process comprehensible and at the same time forms the basis for further research. The provision of the data in a harmonised system opens up new research questions for the discipline of art history as well as from an interdisciplinary perspective, enables new knowledge production and elevates research data to a central component of the cultural preservation system.
