Abstract
Der Beitrag beschäftigt sich mit der Lorscher Bauskulptur, die dem frühen Mittelalter zugerechnet wird, mit dem Ergebnis, dass möglicherweise dieselben Steinmetze, die die Bauskulptur der Torhalle schufen, zur selben Zeit auch alle Spolien herstellten, die nicht für die Torhalle bestimmt waren. In diesem Fall könnten die Spolien einem einzigen Bauwerk zugeordnet werden und nicht zwei oder drei verschiedenen, wie bisher angenommen wird. Schemenhaft wird dann ein zweigeschossiges Bauwerk vorstellbar, das gleichzeitig mit der Torhalle entstand, dessen Äußeres ähnlich gestaltet war und das auch im Inneren mit Bauskulptur geschmückt war.
Translation of abstract (English)
The article deals with the Lorsch architectural sculpture, which is attributed to the early Middle Ages, with the result that possibly the same stonemasons who created the architectural sculpture of the gate hall also made all the spolia that were not intended for the gate hall at the same time. In this case the spolia could be assigned to a single structure and not two or three different ones, as previously thought. A two-story building can then be vaguely imagined, which was built at the same time as the gate hall, whose exterior was designed in a similar way and which was also decorated with architectural sculpture on the inside.
